Melanie Jacobs

Owner, Stylist & Lead Educator

Melanie, co-owner of Deep Roots ATX Salon, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.  In 2011, after spending some time in teaching, banking, and becoming a stay at home Mom, Melanie decided it was time to attend cosmetology school in pursuit of a career as a stylist.

Mahshid Baghaei started her career in the beauty industry with the brave choice to pack up and move from Alabama to New York at 23. She landed an intense and competitive apprenticeship at the Louis Licari Salon on 5th Avenue.

Spencer is a native-born Austinite and has been working behind the chair since he was 18. Spencer discovered his passion at a young age while doing his sister’s hair before school every day. He insisted she had to have the best hair in the class!

With a passion for all things beauty, design, and art, Kourtnie knew by the age of 8 she was called to become a hairstylist. Kourtnie was born in California, but as a military child, she eventually settled in Copperas Cove, TX after several moves around the country.
